December 30, 2012 - Ottawa, Unceded Algonquin Territory
Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence - in 20th day of hunger strike - holds a press conference and invites Canadian MPs to Victoria Island.
Although 20 MPs attended Chief Spence's Open House and photo op, Crown representatives - Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnston - refuse to meet with Chief Spence on a nation-to-nation level.
Meanwhile, downtown at the Rideau Centre, Idle No More and Indigenous Solidarity activists hand out flyers to Sunday shoppers, one of hundreds of demonstrations as part of the growing global Indigenous rights revolution.
